Day Nine :(

well guys today was by far the worst, all because we had to say goodbye for now :( we miss them already and weve only been away for 2 hours, today mostly all we did was go to the bloom and the carecenter then came back and i got to have my beef kabab one more time :) man i'm going to miss this food!  I wish i could just like bring the twins home now, why do we have to wait!! AHHHH!!! :( anyway so now my driver came and it's time to pack up so america here we come!! sorry it was such a short post, but i just had to quick slip something in, lots of love!!! see you soon!!!

Day Eight!

Well today was one of the hardest days, i dont want to go through tomorrow i wish i didn't have to say "chow" or goodbye because its hard enough leaving them for a day, today uchan did the sweetest thing we gave him a book yesterday like a blank notebook with a pen and on the first page we wrote we love you uchan and then all our families names and then wegave it to him and today he showed us and like last night he must have done it he wrote i love mom i love dad i love chelsea i love jeff i love keshia i love jurnea i love patrick i love britta i love apiyo i love ahbea i love aysha i love kia and i love grandma i love grandma and it like brought tears to my eyes because the whole time he was showing me he was like proud and smiling :) man i love him : )  and oh  boy i dont even know where to begin with apiyo, she is such a beautiful angel :) anyway, today scott and leah left around 4 in the morning, crazy birds! but we went shopping.....again, i know! but i think we are actually done this time, then after shopping we went to see the twins at school :) that was so much fun!! they are so smart!! :) but we got to take them from school back to the care center which was probably very unusual for them because the had NEVER been outside of the school/carecenter walls besides when they had to walk back and forth, so they were very nervous, apiyo sat on my lap and we had to have all the windows shut and she made sure i had a very tight grip around her. it was kind of sad.  :( but after we spent over 3 hours with them we decided we needed to leave, because they time we are suppose to stay at the carecenter is about 2 hours, so after we decided we wanted to leave we came back to the hotel for supper my goodness these people know how to please an american girls stomach!! holy wow!! i had a beef kabab jeepers that was good!!! :) after i had stuffed myself full we all went back to the room and played ANOTHER game of phase ten, it's kind of our nightly routine :) but then britta and i started talking in the bedroom and i fell asleep, then mom came in and started yelling at me and i realized i needed to blog still, well at least she kept reminding me by shouting at me :) so now here i am it's 9:21 here at night and i am about ready to go to bed :) talking with patrick as we speak :) so i'm pretty happy!! i miss all of you!! lots of love!!

Day Seven:

Good morning?? :)
Well today was a very heart melting day. This morning my mom and leah went to ethiopian reads, it's a place that like pays for the school, so without these sponsors, there would be no school.  After my mom and leah got back we stayed at the addis view hotel and ate lunch at the coffee shop.  I had speghetti which is weird because at home speghetti wouldn't be my first choice but here in ethiopia it most definately is my first choice!! It's amazing!  Anyway, right and i mean RIGHT after we got done eating we loaded up and headed to court! I think the most nervous person was definately leah, it was not funny but kind of commical riding to court because she sat right next to me and her eyes were closed the whole time, and she was shaking, it was cute.  But all 20ish hours of flight and this one week was all for 3 minutes.  Yes that is how long our meeting was.  Once the judge said "apiyo and uchan are now yours forever"  tears were brought to my face!! FINALLY i was thinking!! So yupp you all heard it right now, we offically have 2 new members of the harberts family as of 2:15 on November 7, 2012!! Anyway we are going to see the twins now and i dont want to miss my ride so i better go!!! TONS OF LOVE!!!

Day Six:

Hey guys!! Someone was on the computer that I always like to go on so now im stuck on this one but the good news is that it has a SHIFT button so i can UPPERCASE11 :D anyway.. so all we've done today is: this morning we woke up thinking apiyo and uchan couldnt see us until late afternoon because we thought they would be in school, but when my dad called our driver he told us that the twins have been waiting for us, today's gift for them was both got side walk chalk and apiyo got little polly pockets and some bright colored headbands, and for uchan we got some flarp, (he got such a kick out of that) and a nerf football, turns out he is dang good at all sports!!! Right after we gave them their gifts, mom dad britta apiyo and uchan sat down in uchans room, and we had our meeting with mom and brother of the twins.  That was very interesting, she was veeeeeerry pleased that we got to take care of our twins, after that meeting we exchanged hugs, and said a prayer together it was a very hard moment to get through, tears ran down my face as i gave mom a hug.  Anyway after that we got to watch the twins eat which looked like injera and dora wot, they loved it, and they were sooooo peaceful as they ate.  When it was time for us to leave the care center :( we went to a quick resturant for a bite to eat, AMAZING food, i felt like i was back in sibley!! except the bill for this food was about 40 dollars cheaper! it's so crazy buying stuff here, it's like they say alright that's like 400 ber (for all 6 of us ) and i'm like holy cow!! That sounds like sooooooooo much money!! But really it's not that much it's only about 22 dollars!! after we ate we went shopping some more, i'm pretty sure we are done shopping.  But we might have to go back on thursday.  :) i love shopping!!!!!!!! But when we got back to addis view i laid down and legitly passed out, i was so tired, i slept from about 4:40 to 7:00 it felt amazing.  Now here I am sitting in the lobby of the hotel talking to all who is reading!!  Scott Leah Mom Dad Britta and I are all prettied up and going to a very special resturant, the resturant where there are dancers and singers like the one we went to 3 years ago! After that i think we are just coming back here to sleep, I might blog after we get done at this resturant so that you all can know how that went!! We miss you all, my driver is here!! Day Four, continued, again. :)

hey guys!! we just had amazing pizza with scott and leah! we are just sitting here waiting to go to the airport to get our luggage, thankfully.  just wanted to say hello again and we are all still safe, extremely tired, but safe :) i got to use my bartering skills again today when we went shopping! oh how i did not miss doing that.  oh i got to go, our driver is here!! lots of love everyone!!

Day Four continued :)

hey guys!! this morning you all know we got to meet apiyo and uchan (notice the names of the children are spelled differently than we thought), uchan is a stud at basketball, and apiyo is such a little hugger.  they both have amazing bright smiles! britta and i played basketball with uchan and i got to paint apiyo's nails :D now we are all going to take a nap which is going to feel amazing!! it's 3:45 here in the afternoon! Day Four:

good morning everyone!!  i won't be using any uppercase letters because this keyboard is super hard to figure out!! sorry! anyway, yesterday my family and i had one of the most stressful days we've experienced in a while.. our flight from ohmaha to houston was very good, small plane but it was ok because we only had to be on it for 2 hours.  then we boarded another plane in houston to go to frankfort, germany,  this plane could hold roughly 800 people and i swear to you every single seat was filled.  that was a very long flight, i had to sit by a man who i thought was like 18 but he kept asking for wine so i was like oh?? ok then i guess you are probably way older than what i thought. \he was from france orignally, which is soooo cool, it's not every day you get to just sit down and talk to someone from france!! he asked me all kinds of questions about why i was going to addis ababa, and like do we actually farm in iowa ha, it was quite humorous!  once we got to frankfort we literally had to run to our next departure,  we got to frankfort in letter z and had to run to c, dad told us that it would only be a little walk but oh yeah sooo little!  we got to our next plane with 7 minutes to spare, yeah that was a close one!  once we got on the plane (this plane had not even half the people of the other one we were on)  so britta, my mom and i all went to the middle isles, put the arm rests up and passed out, i didn't even eat supper let alone our "snack"  i was out the whole 6 hour trip! that felt nice, we had to stop in kartoum for a litte while to refill on gas and let some passengers off, then we took off for addis ababa, that was an easy flight, only about an hour and a half.  i think i fell asleep on that flight also, anyway so we landed, and got our visas, everything was going great! then when we got to the baggage claim we stood there for two hours and only one of our bags came.  yes, that is right 1 out of 6 bags came, and it ended up being brittas, like really?? dad mom and i can't fit into her little pieces of cloth!!! so we had to go to baggage help and ended up they stayed in frankfort so now we have to wait until tonight for our clothes to be here, theeeen since it took 3 HOURS to attempt to find our bags, our driver left that was suppose to take us to our hotel, (which is a super nice hotel!!)  luckily there was a man standing by the door who had a cell phone and could easily speak both languages, so he called our driver, about 20 minutes later our driver showed up, then he took us to addis view, oh yeah let me tell you they aren't lying about the name being addis view because as far as i can see is the beautiful city of addis!! so yeah we met the other family that is adopting there names are leah and scott! cool people! now my family and i get to go meet aypio and uchon it's now so i will blog when we get back!!  lots of love!

Day Three:

We made it to my aunt and uncles house! I slept the whole way after we dropped off Patrick so the ride was easy!  Dad has his panties in a wad.  I don't know how many times he's asked me if we all have our passports, yes father! It's not like they just flew away! Jeeeesh. 

--Just made it to the airport, and now we're just sitting here waiting to board the plane, we made it through the stupid security! Man i hate that!  Now mom is sitting by me, and she was reading this blog, all she had to say was, i wish you would use proper grammar.  Oh boy mother!  Anyway, our plane is scheduled to depart at 12 something, so i will probably get back on to update when we get to Houston!! Day Two:

We are counting down to the very second :D We've got all the bags packed... now i have to bring kia to the feldkamps and the twins to the meyers, thank heavens for them :) Get to go out for chinese tonight for my last night :D For right now all i know is we have to get up SUPER early which sucks for me well and britta because we are most definately not early risers.. But it will all be worth it in the end :) i'll keep you updated again!! Lots of love!

Day One:

Oh my gosh guys! I can't believe it's finally here!! :D The day has come where we get to pack again to see MORE brothers and sisters!! (or son and daughter) All the Harberts family is doing now is packing away.. you should see our house, maybe you've been over when the twins are busy making mess, yeah come over now, i mean even mom is making a disaster! It's awesome!! :D  Only one more day and we get to be on that awesome (sarcastic) plane ride over again!! I will keep you updated all throughout the trip! By the way, this is jurnea :)  Thanks for following!  I'll be posting pictures and tons of other stuff, and also just telling you what's up :D Thanks for following!! Lots of love!
